POINT EDWARD, ONTARIO, October 4, 2019

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is advising travellers using the Blue Water Bridge of drainage repair works affecting the commercial (trucks) primary inspection lanes of the Canada-bound CBSA customs plaza effective Monday October 7th.

In October and November, lanes will be closed on an intermittent, rotating basis to facilitate repairs and to adequately allow for concrete to fully cure. Some moderate delays are to be expected as vehicles are routed to open lanes.

While CBSA activities are not expected to be impacted, FCBL will deploy staff to actively manage traffic in order to minimize the impact on travellers.

Please follow the Blue Water Bridge Twitter account @BlueWaterBridge for the latest travel time updates.

FBCL aims to ensure that the long-term safety and viability of the Blue Water Bridge is preserved. These maintenance activities will only affect commercial vehicles entering Canada.

FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario. FBCL’s mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that its international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users.
